Whether you’re up for a drink, a snack or a full meal, there are lots of places nearby.  

  • Ravenscar tearoom in the village, is open 10am-4pm serving ice creams, drinks, snacks and light meals. Please check the Facebook page for up to date opening hours (usually closed Tuesdays)

  • Raven Hall Hotel (01723 870353) is perched on the cliff top in the village and offer drinks, afternoon teas, sandwiches and bar meals (lunchtime and evening), served either in the restaurant or the gardens and a la carte in the restaurant on an evening


We have three local pubs:

  • The Hayburn Wyke (01723 870202, This pub is on the old railway on the way from Ravenscar to Cloughton and is very popular at lunchtimes particularly with walkers and cyclists.  It is about 4 miles away by road and there is a sign on the left hand side of the road at the turn off. They serve drink, bar snacks and meals every lunchtime and evening (except Monday evening)

  • The Bryherstones Inn (01723 870744, is on the road back toward Scarborough (4 1/2 miles from Smugglers Rock on the roadside).  It is a restaurant/pub and serves hand pulled ales as well as food every evening and Friday-Sunday lunchtimes

  • The Falcon Inn, Whitby Road, Cloughton (01723 870202) (2 miles from us on the Whitby Road). This pub is currently closed for refurbishment but we are hopeful it will be open in June 2024

There is also the Three Jolly Sailors and the Oak Wheel in Burniston and the Blacksmiths Arms in Cloughton

Whitby has many fish restaurants, the most popular ones being The Magpie, Trenches and The Fisherman's Wife, as well as lots of pubs serving meals and individual restaurants too

Scarborough has several fish restaurants, including Cafe Fish, as well as Italian pizza restaurants like Ask

Scarborough town centre also has numerous cafes and bars, McDonalds and KFC
