Can I get my shopping delivered?
Tesco, Sainsburys and Morrisons deliver to us from Scarborough and Asda deliver from Middlesbrough. Use the postcode YO13 0ER and state the name of your cottage. Please do not have your delivery arrive before 4pm on day of arrival to ensure you are here to accept it

Do you have on site parking? Yes, we have space in our car park for a maximum of 2 cars per cottage

What is your wi-fi like?
Even though we are in the middle of the countryside, we are lucky enough to have a BT fibre cabinet outside :) We therefore have super fast wi-fi of around 78mpbs and there is coverage throughout the house

Can I watch Netflix, Amazon Prime and Now TV?
Yes, the smart TV (which has a Roku stick) will allow you to use your login details to use the services. Don't forget to log out at the end of your stay

What do I need to bring with me for the kitchen?
Tea towels, a dishcloth and pan scrub, oven gloves and apron are provided, as well as a supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing powder, kitchen roll and foil. We also provide a welcome pack (usually consisting): biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, shloer and milk

Is there a coffee machine?
We have a cafetiere for filter coffee and Smugglers View Cottage also has a Nespresso pod machine

What do I need to bring with me for the bedroom/bathroom?
Beds are made up for arrival as well as a hand and bath towel per person. There are complementary travel size toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, shower cap and soap), and a couple of toilet rolls (always a good idea to bring more with you!). There is an alarm clock and hairdryer in each cottage

Is there an iron and ironing board?
Yes, you will find these in the cottage, as well as a clothes airer, pegs, a vacuum, a mop, broom and dustpan and brush

Are there any books/games?
Yes, we have a section of books (as well as local information leaflets and booklets) on the bookcase or in the drawers. We also have a few games (it's always a good ideal to bring more, especially if you have children with you)

Is there an outside space?
Yes, each cottage has a lovely gated patio area with access from the kitchen door. There is a wicker dining table and chairs with a parasol. Outdoor cushions are provided and are stored under the stairs (but please bring them in at night and put the parasol down when going out and at night)

Is there a BBQ?
Yes, we have a kettle BBQs on the patio (tools are under the kitchen sink), but we do not provide charcoal or matches. Please leave the BBQ as you find it

Can I use candles in the cottage?
No naked flames are allowed in the property for fire prevention purposes and the fire alarm system is extremely sensitive

Can I smoke or vape in the cottage?
Sorry, but neither are permitted in the cottage (even vaping will set off the fire alarm). Hairspray and deodorant sprays can also set off the fire alarm if sprayed too close to the sensor

Can I bring my bike?
Yes, but bikes must not be taken into the cottage at any time. In the corner of the car park, we have an outdoor cycle rack for 5 bikes which is adjacent to a lockable storage shelter for up to 4 bikes. We also have further storage in the outbuilding in the car park (through the wooden door which says deliveries). This will hold up to 4 bikes and has an anchor point with lockable chain supplied. Please advise the number of bikes you will be bringing at time of booking

Can I charge my electric car?
Yes, we have two charging points (type 2) which must be pre-booked (ideally at the time you make your booking). You will need to bring your own charging lead, and the electricity is charged as metered. Please note; you may have to share the point during your stay if we have another electric car on site at the same time.
We ask you to keep a track of the amount of electricity used so you can leave the cash on check out please

Is there a bus service? There are two buses a day (not Sundays) into Scarborough. The bus stop for Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay is 2 miles away on the main road

Can I have an early check-in or a late check-out?
Unfortunately this is not usually possible. It takes some time to get the property up to the standard you would expect to find it in for your arrival. It is therefore important that you do not arrive before 4pm on day of arrival, and that you vacate the house by 10.00am at the latest on departure day

Can I have visitors to the cottage?
If you are having day visitors, the total number of people in the house must not exceed 4 (plus a baby), and you should have no more than 2 cars in the car park. Overnight visitors are not permitted without prior approval
